2013年9月16日至24日，水土资源研究室赵文智主任、何志斌研究员、肖生春副研究和生态与农业研究室王新平研究员参加了联合国教科文组织“2013国际水合作年”计划框架下组织的Ecohydrology, Biotechnology and Engineering生态水文学国际会议，会议由 联合国教科文组织欧洲生态水文区域中心（European Regional Center for Ecohydrology Under the Auspices of UNESCO）、波兰共和国科学与高等教育部、波兰科学院和罗兹大学（University of Lodz, Poland）等单位承办。会议的主题是Towards the Harmony between Biogeosphere and Society on the Basin of Long--term Ecosystem Research，旨在提供跨学科的交流平台，并致力于人类社会与生物圈和谐的合理生态解决方案的形成。赵文智、何志斌、王新平分别作了题为“The responses of desert plant to rainfall pulses in temperate desert regions, Northwestern China”、“Spatial variability of canopyinterception in a spruce forest of the semiarid mountain region of China”和“Dependence of canopy water storage capacity on raindrop size in revegetated desert shrubs”的报告。
